Frequently asked questions
Here are some frequently asked questions relating to our trial
If you’ve got any questions about our trial, here’s a good place to start.
Why are you doing this research?
Overthinking, worry and rumination, sometimes called repetitive negative thoughts, are known to be linked with an increased risk for anxiety and depression. CBT is a therapy used widely in the NHS to help people with their repetitive negative thoughts. It helps people to look at changing the way they think and act to improve how they feel. We are aiming to find out which components of CBT are most helpful for reducing repetitive negative thought patterns. With this knowledge, we hope to make CBT more accessible, and impactful, so more people can benefit from it.
Do I need a diagnosis to take part?
No. You don’t need to be diagnosed with a mental health condition or referred by your doctor to take part in the trial.
Is my information confidential?
Yes. Any data you give us is strictly private, confidential, protected, and stored securely.
Who can access my data?
To keep your data safe, only selected researchers involved in the calming minds project will have limited access to information you share with us.
Why should I take part?
